Join us on-farm to explore how homegrown maize silage complements Stephen and Heather Balls' autumn calving system, which aligns with seasonal pasture supply and dedicates 14% of the farm platform to homegrown maize. This system is designed to minimize and mitigate summer pasture growth risk.
Refreshments and lunch on us.
Location: 6 Sarjant Road, RD1, Paeroa
Join us for a discussion on the Sing's generational operation, highlighting the increase of maize production from 330 kg/dm per cow to 1t dm/per cow, and achieving a 6-week in-calf rate of 74-79% with empty rates of 6-14% over a 10-week mating period. Learn how a consistent feed supply throughout the season has helped achieve production and BCS targets, with a focus on strategic cropping decisions and the use of maize. Discover the benefits of maize in achieving consistent production results, filling feed deficits, and maintaining a simple, repeatable, low-cost system.
We'll have the BBQ fired up for lunch and look forward to seeing you.

For more information on this event, please contact your local Pioneer Rep.
Join us on-farm to learn how sharemilker and third-season maize grower, Jamie Williams, has successfully reduced risk by growing short maturity maize on nutrient-rich effluent ground. Gain insight into how these practices have led to a consistent, low-cost feed supply, producing maize for between 18-20 cents per kg/dm on-farm.
We'll supply lunch and refreshments.
